A trip to Sunday’s Rochester Christmas parade ended badly for three people who were arrested at an Orion Township home.
At 5:15 p.m. the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call to a house on Homesite Street, where a 26-year-old Pontiac woman said she was assaulted by her stepfather when she attempted to pick up her 6-year-old son.
The report of the incident describes a busy scene. When deputies arrived, they discovered that the parties had been drinking, and that an earlier physical altercation on the way home from the parade had led to a second altercation on the front porch on Homesite. Deputies observed fresh marks and scratches on the stepfather which indicated that he had been assaulted.

A tracking dog was brought to the scene and the caller gave deputies a physical description of the pair. After a three-quarter-mile track, the suspects were found near the 4300 block of Baldwin and taken into custody without incident.
The woman went to jail. The second passenger, a 55-year-old Orion Township man, was released pending further investigation. The investigation was turned over to the sheriff’s Auto Theft Unit.
