Renowned Theologian to Speak in Lake Orion on 'Where There’s Hope, There’s Life'

The annual Pontiac Area Vicariate education and collaboration assembly presents renowned scholar, teacher and theologian Fr. Anthony J. Gittins, CSSp., Ph.D., on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:00 PM speaking on “Where There’s Hope, There’s Life.” His presentation will shed light on the causes of poverty and the concerns of the poor, leading to the development of a compassionate response, both locally and on a larger scale. The event will take place at Christ the Redeemer church, 2700 Waldon Rd. in Lake Orion.

Fr. Gittins has taught Theology and Cultural Anthropology at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago since 1984. In his teaching, he touches the interface between the social sciences and theological disciplines. He is the author of fifteen books on theological and anthropological topics, and on mission and spirituality.

The Pontiac Area Vicariate is comprised of Catholic parishes, schools, agencies and institutions in the greater Pontiac, Rochester, and Lake Orion area who gather together to collaborate and share resources  for the benefit of the people beyond and within its boundaries.
