Parents and teens voluntarily went to court on Monday night in Rochester Hills for the second annual to learn about substance abuse.
The North Oakland Community Coalition partnered with three 52-3 District Court judges and police chiefs, including Lake Orion Police Chief Jerry Narsh and Rochester Steve Schettenhelm to make Court Night possible. Officers and participating judges, Lisa Asaadorian, Nancy Carniak and Julie Nicholson, discussed marijuana, partying and placed an emphasis on prescription drugs.
"We have found that withinin the last five or six years the number of people that are being treated for prescription drug addiction has gone up 450 percent," Judge Nicholson said.
