Accounts of political upheaval in countries such as Egypt, Libya, and Syria have been all over the news since 2011.  In this book, Middle East scholar James L. Gelvin provides an analysis of each revolution for the general reader using an easily understandable question-and-answer format.  If you’ve ever wanted to know more about the “Arab Spring,” this is a good starting place.  For further reading, also try The Arab Uprising: the Unfinished Revolutions of the New Middle East by Marc Lynch.
