Brandon Knight's Autograph Was On The Shopping List Thursday

Detroit Pistons Point Guard Brandon Knight signed autographs at Hollywood Market in Lake Orion on Thursday.

Pistons fans young and old approached Brandon Knight, Detroit Pistons point guard, Thursday afternoon for autographs and photos at .

Knight, the 20-year-old star of the NBA team, said he enjoys meeting his fans.

"It's always fun when you get to see people that support you come out and when you can basically just touch somebody for a brief period of time," said Knight, who was among those in the NBA named all-rookie first team. "It's always fun giving back to the fans and the community."

Many women gathered autographs for their grandchildren, while Pistons fans like 6-year-old Sophia Shonts of Lake Orion were ecstatic to have the opportunity to get their photo taken with the 6-foot-3-inch player.

"This is very exciting," Char Follis of Lake Orion said after receiving two signed photographs of Knight for her grandchildren.

"I like him a lot ... it's pretty cool (to meet him)," said Peter Weglarz, 15, of Lake Orion.

Other dedicated Pistons fans came from as far as Detroit to see Knight.

"He's the future of the Pistons," Yashana Zamora of Detroit said. "I'm very, very excited I met him."

Matthew Asta, manager of Lake Orion's Hollywood Market, said he would like to have more athletes in the store to sign autographs in the future. He was pleased with the turnout the meet and greet brought, calling the Coca-Cola sponsored event a 'win-win' both for Hollywood Market and the Detroit Pistons.

"He's the guy we want to get up front and center with the fans here in the Detroit area," Kevin Grigg, vice president of public relations for the Pistons said.

Grigg went on to say that Knight's very fan-friendly and an "excellent representative" of their organization.

When Knight was asked about his performance this season he said though it felt good to be named all-rookie first team, he wants to continue to get better.

Knight also said, "I want to focus on Pistons being a playoff team."

When he was asked whether he had any lucky rituals he responded, "I don't believe in luck, I believe in hard work."
