Come Out and Play at the Orion Library!

There are so many reasons to come to the Orion Township Public Library, but today I'll give you two more:

1.  Now it's even easier to access our beautiful reading garden. Our library acquired a set of security gates for free, and our amazing head of maintenance worked with our fantastic head of technology to repair the gates. (Thank you, Mike and Judi!) Now you can check out any materials you want at the front desk, then go through the magazine room to enjoy our gorgeous outdoor space!

2. Our reading garden has plenty of room for kids to play, and if you're looking for fun new games, here's the second reason to come to the Orion Library: to get this book: Go Out and Play! Favorite Outdoor Games from KaBOOM! 

Go Out and Play! has dozens of games and ideas that will make your kids want to run around outside. Each game has a short description of how to play and tells you how many players can play, what materials you'll need (if any), and what is the best age group for the game. You'll find tag games, circle games, race games, and more. When I saw that the author of this book is “KaBOOM!”, I did a little research. “KaBOOM! is a national non-profit dedicated to saving play for America’s children. Our mission is to create great playspaces through the participation and leadership of communities. Ultimately, we envision a place to play within walking distance of every child in America.” Now I like the book even more.

So, come to the Orion Township Public Library and check out Go Out and Play! Take the book and your kids out to our reading garden and enjoy these last few days of summer.
