Crossroads for Youth Board Names Marc Porter New President

Crossroads for Youth and its Board of Directors today announced the appointment of Marc Porter as president of the organization effective immediately. Crossroads for Youth is a nonprofit that works with at-risk and disadvantaged youth and their families throughout Michigan. Porter replaces longtime President Dr. Janet McPeek who announced her May 31 retirement from the organization in January.

Prior to this announcement, Porter served as the acting president of Crossroads for Youth. He has been with Crossroads for Youth for 15 years, most recently as vice president. His other titles at Crossroads for Youth have included treatment specialist, associate supervisor, program supervisor, program director and more – giving him a thorough understanding of the organization and its needs.

Ron Reynolds, Chairman of the Crossroads for Youth Board, said, "Marc Porter’s dedication to Crossroads for Youth has been tremendous over the years. He has established himself as not only a talented treatment professional, but an excellent team builder. We are looking forward to his long-term leadership of our mission to help at-risk youth."

He also worked at another Montana-based organization assisting developmentally disabled patients in a group home setting. Porter also served eight years in the Air Force as a fire fighter. Porter received a Bachelor of Science in social sociology from Park University, and a Master of Arts in counseling from Oakland University.

"It’s an honor to be appointed Crossroads for Youth president," said Porter. "I'm looking forward to playing a central role in assisting at-risk youth through our various programs so that they can go on to lead productive lives."
