Grizz Skate Jam at Oakland University

Oakland University's Skateboard Club: 2nd Annual Grizz Skate
Jam

ROCHESTER, May 12, 2013 - The Skateboard Club at Oakland University is rolling out their ramps for one of the biggest skateboard annual events in the Metro-Detroit area this Saturday, May 18th. Last year the Skateboard Club brought out Toy Machine's Matt Bennett and local bands playing for the successful inaugural event, Grizz Skate Jam. The Skateboard Club has been busy in putting together another highly anticipated skateboard event with
some major skateboard industry companies, local businesses and bands.

With word getting out after last year's Grizz Skate Jam
successful event, the skateboard club participating in the Collegiate Skate Tour this year, many well-known extreme sport companies and local bands eagerly jumped on board. While the street skate and longboard events are going on
throughout the day, local bands will be providing live music with WXOU as the DJ. After a hot day of skateboarding or spectating, there will be a free product toss and a fire pit, more music and free food.

The increase of popularity in skateboarding in the area and
Detroit's current bid for the XGames 2014, Grizz Skate Jam has been highly anticipated within the Skateboard Club, the metro area and most importantly the major extreme sport sponsors. Toy Machine, Hoodie Buddie, AMBIG, AWSM, Diamond Supply, Shenanigans, City Grind, Dubz, Skate Hungry and many more providing the Freebies. Speaking of freebies, hungry? Cold Stone, Buffalo Wild Wings, Red Bull and others will be there, too. It's going to be a hot day, so why not a haircut, Playmakers will be there, too. So come on out, check out the ramps that were built by the Skateboard Club team and Home Depot (provided the materials). Listen to some live music by local bands: Leaving Lifted, some Sort of Oasis, RUT, and many more. When the sun goes down, the fire pit will be lit
and AMBIG's Modern Art Video (newly released 5/10) will be shown. Come on out, bring your skateboard (or not), join the Skateboard Club at OU at the second annual Grizz Skate Jam. The Grizz Skate Jam, free event, will be held on Saturday, May 18th at Oakland University's Upper Fields from noon to 10 p.m.
