History Program - Michigan Authors

 Meet Michigan author, Robert A. Lytle, at Cranberry Lake Farm (CLF) main house with a presentation on his interest in Michigan history and his book Mr. Blair’s Labyrinth. The book is about two boys who uncover the history of their Grandpa’s house, enter into a labyrinth one evening, and find themselves back in 1935 during the Great Depression. Then hear about the settlement of Goodison during the reading of the poem Life is Good in Goodison, Michigan-i-ay, Written by Robert Lytle as well. For those interested, Robert will be available to sign books after the program.


Up next, Gloria Nixon-John will be reading several poems she has written on farming, country life, and her love of horses. Gloria has also published books, essays, short stories, and academic articles.

Cranberry Lake Farm Historic District is located in the north east corner of Oakland Township; take Rochester Road to West Predmore Road. CLF main house is on the right side about ½ mile from Rochester Road. There is a gravel parking area and also closer disability parking available.
