Lake Orion Wrestler in State Finals at Palace Today

Lake Orion sophomore Charlie Highlen wrestles today in the individual state wrestling finals at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Highlen, who qualifiedin the individual wrestling regionals, takes on Jake Jones of Lincoln Park in the 125-pound weight class.

“He’s the centerpiece of our team for the next two years for sure,” Lake Orion Cory Kuzinski said of his lone regional qualifier.

also is sending three wrestlers to the state finals. Justin Schofield (103), Alex Potoniec (125) and Jack Addy (145) all reached the finals of the consolation bracket where they lost i regionals.

Stoney Creek has three wrestlers in the finals, including senior Nick Gajdzik, who won the heavyweight division (285) at regionals.
