Mini Barn Quilt Squares at Cranberry Lake Farm!

Have you ever seen a giant-sized "lawn-quilt"?  To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Oakland Township Historical Society, the HDC asked members, residents, community groups, and local businesses to participate in designing a painted mini barn quilt.   These will all be on display near the Flumerfelt Barn on July 18.  Music in the Meadows by the Parks and Recreation Commission begins at 7:00 pm.  Squares and free building tours will begin at 6:00 pm.

Pictured is the FLUMERFELT
STAR by Denise Dunn.  “Before choosing my
design for this project I read a bit about the Flumerfelt Barn.  I wanted this quilt square’s design to
reflect this historic barn.  One of the
unique qualities of this barn is on its metal door hinges. The metal door
hinges have cut out star shapes.  I took
the traditional block star pattern and elongated the star’s points and added a
pinwheel border.”
