On the Agenda: Township Recycling Program, Older Persons Commission

Here's a look at what's on the agenda tonight for the Oakland Township Board of Trustees meeting.

The Oakland Township Board of Trustees is meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in . Here's what's on the agenda:

  • The board, which has been looking into alternative solid waste and recycling programs for some time, will be considering a contract for services at Tuesday's meeting. The township's current recycling program consists of being placed in the parking lot once a week for residents.
  • The Historic District Study Committee hopes to proceed with looking into including the property at 4014 Orion Rd. within the historic district. The board will consider waiving the public hearing at the meeting to allow the committee to further its investigation.
  • Additionally, the board will address the Older Persons Commission's (OPC) current budget plan. Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township fund the OPC, and the city of Rochester has recommended an alternative budget to what the OPC presented. The board will consider those budgets at its meeting.
