Potbelly Sandwich Shop Opens in Orion
The Beloved Shop Brings its Toasty Warm Sandwiches, Signature Shakes and Live Music to the Intersection of Baldwin Rd. and Brown Rd.
Potbelly Sandwich Shop announced today the opening of a new shop located across from the Baldwin Commons at 4911 S. Baldwin Rd. Set to open Tuesday, November 24th, the widely acclaimed neighborhood hangout will feature its toasty warm sandwiches, hand-dipped milkshakes, tasty made-to-order salads and live, local music, which make it “The Best Place for Lunch.”
Earning a reputation in neighborhoods across the United States for having delicious food, fun décor and local musicians performing, Potbelly shops are also well known for their friendly and lively people. Michael Johnston is the general manager of the new shop and has more than 11 years of restaurant industry experience.
“There is already great buzz about the new location,” said Johnston. “From our toasty warm sandwiches to our live, local music, we offer a mealtime getaway for business professionals, friends and families. We are very excited to be opening in the heart of the shopping district and look forward to joining the community.”

Potbelly Sandwich Shop fans have grown to adore the brand while visiting its multiple existing shops in the Detroit area. This is the first location in Orion. Known for its good vibes in addition to great sandwiches, live music has been a part of the Potbelly experience since the first shop opened in 1977. Neighborhood musicians put a little rhythm into lunch at Potbelly Sandwich Shops around the country. Interested performers in and around Orion should contact the new shop manager to apply and to schedule an audition.
“No longer do our neighbors in Orion and surrounding towns have to travel far for their favorite sandwich,” Johnston added. “With good tunes and a welcoming atmosphere, the Orion community is in for a real treat.”

This Potbelly Sandwich Shop includes about 20 staff members, ranging from customer service to managers. The shop and drive-thru will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Delivery service will start a few weeks after opening and will be available Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with minimum orders of $25.
