Oakland Township Supervisor Gonser makes unauthorized decision regarding park land
Supervisor Gonser allows pipeline company to survey Draper Twin Lakes Park to possibly install a 42 inch high pressure gas pipeline

Oakland Township Supervisor, Terry Gonser, had once again made a unilateral decision for which he did not have authority. At the November 12, 2014 Oakland Township Parks and Recreation Commission meeting, Vector Pipeline requested approval to survey the Draper Twin Lakes Park to potentially place a 42 inch high pressure (1000 psi) gas pipeline through it. The Commission did not approve the request. After the meeting, the applicant approached Supervisor Gonser, and he approved the request.
The separately elected Parks and Recreation Commission has the authority to manage the Park. Supervisor Gonser does not. He made the decision without Board or Parks and Recreation Commission approval. This appears to be yet another attempt by the Supervisor to usurp the authority of the Parks and Recreation Commission.
