Suspect Nabbed in Break-in at Oakland Township Home

The Mancelona man has a history of breaking and entering.

A 43-year-old Mancelona man was arrested Thursday in connection with two break-ins.

Undercover Troy police officers were following a suspect in a residential break-in at an address in the 1200 block of Kern Road near Clarkston Road in Oakland Township. At 10:46 a.m. the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office was called in to assist. Officers stopped the vehicle and the man was taken into custody.

Property allegedly stolen from the Kern Road address and at least one other break-in that occurred in Springfield Township at an address on Big Lake Road the same morning was located in the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect was taken to the Oakland County Jail pending arraignment. Undersheriff Mike McCabe said he has a record of home invasion.
