Understanding Gender Identity in Children & Teens

A Community Conversation

The Orion Township Public Library and the Lake Orion United Methodist Church have formed a partnership to bring you a series of lectures on various social justice issues, presented by experts in each topic.

Dr. Daniel Shumer, Professor in the Department of Pediatric Endocrinology at the University of Michigan’s Comprehensive Gender Services Program, will present Understanding Gender Identity in Children and Teens at Lockhart’s BBQ in Lake Orion on Tuesday, January 23 at 7:00p. Dr. Shumer’s research has specifically focused on improving mental health disparities in the transgender community.

All are welcome to attend and learn from experts in the field in a SAFE and SUPPORTIVE environment.
