Voters Wait Patiently as Election Draws Big Turnout in Lake Orion and Oakland Township
Some polling places were packed Tuesday morning, with voters reporting 1-2 hour waits.
Some voters found long lines at their polling places this morning.
In addition, many voters beat the crowds and turned in ballots before the election. The Orion Township Clerk's office said 4,679 absentee ballots had been returned as of 3 p.m.
At Precinct 4, the Orion Township Library, voters snaked in a line around the library.

On the Oakland Township/Lake Orion Facebook page, some voters said they couldn't wait and intended to return later.
One voter reported that the lot at Delta Kelly was full before 7 a.m.: "Probably 50 people in front of me & line didn't move for 15 minutes, so I decided to get to work early & try again later. : ("

Another said: "Got to Woodlands at 7:40, walked out after voting at 8:40. The line was even longer when I left."
