• Michigan commits $89M to clean up pollution in Detroit, Kalamazoo rivers (mlive.com) — State leaders have committed $25 million to restoration work along the Kalamazoo River, including sediment cleanup, habitat improvements, and dam removals in and around Otsego, Allegan, Plainwell, Swan Creek, and Trowbridge. The broader $89 million “Reclaim the Rivers” initiative also targets major cleanup on the Detroit River and additional projects statewide, with goals of healthier fish, better recreation, and safer water by 2040.
