2 Killed in Train-Vehicle Crash in Wayne
A pickup reportedly went around lowered crossing arms and was struck by an Amtrak train bound for Pontiac from Chicago.

Two people were killed in a train-vehicle crash in Wayne about 10:40 p.m. when a pickup apparently went around barrier arms lowered to signal an approaching train on Venoy just south of Michigan Avenue, authorities said.
The names of the victims haven't been released pending the notification of relatives, Hometownlife.com reported.
The pickup was struck by an Amtrak train bound for Pontiac from Chicago, according to the report. There were no injuries among the 90 passengers on the train, but their trip was delayed for several hours following the collision.

Michigan State Police are investigating the incident.
The accident was the third fatal accident in Wayne in two years. In 2014, a 12-year-old Westland boy was struck and killed by an Amtrak train when he reportedly tried to beat a train on foot. In May, a man was killed while crossing the tracks on Merriman south of Michigan Avenue.
