One time I read - "I doubt that the imagination can be suppressed. If you truly eradicated it in a child, he would grow up to be an eggplant." These lines were writtten by Ursula K. Le Guin.
Isn't this so very true?A child imagination is the beginning of his/her development. It is the basic foundation of the learning process in the child's brain. Everyday we must work to enable our child imagine & think. This can be accomplished in seemingly very simple actions.
An infant playing with a soft cotton ball; a 2 year old putting square and triangles in their place; a 4 year old looking at a book with cars racing - so simple items for us grown ups - these forms the most important age appropriate exercise to imagine and think.
In today's times with computers around us, it is ever so important to make sure our children are imagining and thinking with real items they can touch, feel & play with.
Just some thoughts in my mind and I wanted to share with everyone.
Thanks.
