Canton Outdoor Concert Incubates New Business

Crusin' Custom Coneys is the brainchild of substitute teacher Gary Marks.

Canton's weekly outdoor concerts at showcase live music with attractions provided from in the form of a bounce house, rock wall and at times, chalk drawings, face painting and other kid-friendly activities.

This year, a new food stand debuted: Cruisin' Custom Coneys. Gary Marks of Canton runs the stand with his daughter, Mesa Marks.

The stand offers snacks such as Pop Tarts, chips, cookies and trail mix bars as well as Nathan's hot dogs, water and soft drinks. Prices range from 50 cents for snacks to $3 for hot dogs.

Gary Marks said he is a substitute teacher and the food stand is one way he is earning money over the summer. The Cruisin' Custom Coneys is scheduled to be at the Thursday Concert Series in  from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Tonight's show features Big Will & the 360 Degree Band, which plays Top 40, dance and R&B music.
