Comic Author Gary Reed Brings 'Deadworld' to Comic City in Canton
Reed will be signing autographs, handing out free bookmarks and promotional items at Canton store.

of Canton will be hosting writer Gary Reed and his new series, Deadworld: War of the Dead, from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday.
The second issue of the series will be on the shelves that day, even though the first issue arrived just last week. Deadworld: War of the Dead ships weekly instead of the traditional monthly as the publisher, IDW, made the zombie series its "event comic" of the month.
Deadworld is a series that has been around since the 1980s and predates the popular The Walking Dead by over a decade, but interest in the television show has spawned a renewed interest in all things zombies and interest in Deadworld has been escalating. The new series, War of the Dead, is a five-issue series structured so new readers can enjoy it. It features an unusual twist in that the lepers, victims of bizarre experimentation, have such diseased skin that the zombies can’t sense them.

His Red Diaries graphic novel got recent media attention as it deals with the deaths of Marilyn Monroe and JFK and this connected with the recent anniversary of Monroe’s death 50 years ago.
In addition to signing Deadworld, Reed will be passing out free bookmarks and special promotional cards to all attendees and Comic City will have a sampling of many of his books, some 25 in all.
