Coreopsis - The Bright and Sunny Perennial

Looking for a bright and sunny perennial? Consider the sun loving Coreopsis! Coreopsis are colorful, daisy-like flowers, that have a long bloom period and are generally trouble free and easy to grow. With dozens of varieties to choose from, they are great additions to any garden design.

Coreopsis flourishes best in well drained garden soil and in full sun. They are drought resistant and are the perfect choice for difficult areas where other plants have a challenge growing. These perennial flowers bloom in a multitude of shades including yellow, orange and pink.

Coreopsis plants look their best when planted in groups of 4 to 5 plants and should be divided every 4 years or so to keep the bed fresh and healthy looking. Butterflies are drawn to Coreopsis while Deer avoid them so they are perfect when designing landscaping in areas where there are a considerable amount of deer.

Beth’s Favorite long bloomers include: Thread-leaf Coreopsis, Moonbeam, Mercury Rising and Route 66.
