Detroit Man Leads State Troopers on High-Speed Chase

The 30-year-old man was taken into custody after crashing into a building early Monday morning.

An attempted traffic stop near Livernois and Michigan avenues in Detroit turned into a high-speed chase and crash Monday morning, according to a Detroit News report.

Michigan State Police apprehended the 30-year-old Detroit man accused of causing the chase at about 3:15 a.m., in an abandoned house, the report stated.

Police tried to pull over the man in a 2002 Chevrolet at about 1:40 a.m., for defective equipment, the report stated. The man wouldn’t stop and began to lead troopers on a chase, while throwing items from his vehicle, the report added.

Eventually, the man crashed into a building at Davison and 14th streets, the report stated. No one was harmed in that accident, the report added.
