Discovery Middle School Physical Education
A well rounded education doesn’t just include academics. Students need daily exercise to stay healthy. Eight weeks of quarantine can cause students to forget about the importance of getting enough exercise. Discovery Middle School Physical Education teachers Dan Abraham and Angela Schmidt have been working hard to make sure students have both sound minds and bodies. Abraham and Schmidt have developed a series of videos for students to follow so they can get a full body workout right at home.

These short videos emphasize proper form when exercising so students get the most out of their workouts and develop strength and stamina. The teachers have created four videos (pushups, wall sits, burpees and planks) and are working on more. The videos are less than three minutes long and soon will be shared with all middle school students districtwide.
Abraham and Schmidt do a great job of encouraging students to get fit. Now more than ever, exercise is the key to keeping children happy and healthy.
