LIVONIA, MI — A life-sized lawn display featuring Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s face superimposed on Captain America atop a pedestal reading “Veterans for Trump” and adorned with two U.S. flags was stolen from a Livonia veteran’s lawn, and police are trying to get it back.

The display vanished in the overnight Wednesday or Thursday from the 15400 block of Doris Street, according to a post on the Livonia Police Department’s Facebook page.

The display belongs to a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, the police department said. Anyone with information is asked to call Livonia police at (734) 466-2470.

“We aren’t sure if it was a Trump supporter or a Trump hater,” Warra said, adding police don’t have any leads in the investigation.

Trump will visit Detroit Saturday, where he is expected to attend an 11 a.m. worship service at Great Faith Ministries International, then participate in a closed interview with the congregation’s leader, Bishop Wayne T. Jackson. The interview will be aired about a week after the event on the church’s Impact Network, an African-American-owned Christian broadcast network.

Trump is also expected to tour some of Detroit’s most economically depressed neighborhoods with primary rival Ben Carson, a retired neurosurgeon who grew up in poverty in the Motor City.
