The Michigan Phiharmonic will kick off
it’s season and new name by presenting a free pops concert for America’s birthday on Saturday, June 18, 2011, for the Canton Liberty Fest at Heritage Park in Canton, MI. This fun, patriotic, family-friendly “American Salute” pops
concert will include many American favorites -
Yankee Doodle, This Land is your Land, America the Beautiful, Gershwin’s American in Paris, Bernstein’s West Side Story, and will conclude with Tchaikovsky’s thrilling 1812 Overture and Sousa’s most famous march, Stars and
Stripes Forever. Come celebrate the Liberty Fest in Canton with your family, neighbors and your hometown’s
professional orchestra! Bring a picnic, bring your flags and sit back and enjoy exceptionally spectacular music by the
Michigan Philharmonic and conductor, Nan Washburn followed by the Liberty Fest Fireworks Spectacular!
