Join the Friends of the I-275 Metro Trail for trail cleanup
day on Saturday, April 14th. We’ll be working in Canton Township on the section of trail north of Van Born
Rd. Meet us between 9 a.m. and noon in the driveway on the north side of Van Born just east of I-275. There is no Van Born exit, so you’ll need to get off the freeway at either Michigan Ave. or Ecorse Rd., and take Haggerty or
Hannan to Van Born – then look for our sign.
We’ll be working primarily on clearing out winter washouts,
so bring flat shovel, scrapers, stiff-bristled brooms and metal leaf rakes. Tools for pruning vegetation would also be helpful, as would a gas-powered leaf-blower.
