"The Red Violin" Comes to the Village Theater

It's the opening night of the Michigan Philharmonic, "The Red Violin," featuring the Philharmonic's former concertmaster, violinist Anicka Skalova as soloist on John Corigliano's Oscar-winning music from the movie The Red Violin.

Another film score, "An American Symphony" from Mr. Holland's Opus opens the concert and Tchaikovsky's "Little Russian' Symphony No. 2" brings it to a close.

The pre-concert reception will be held from 6-7 p.m. From 7-7:15 p.m. Curt Whipple will speak in support of the arts.
