The Compassionate Friends are holding a special candle ceremony in Kellogg Park, for parents remembering children who died at any age from any cause.
The Worldwide Candle Lighting is celebrated the second Sunday in December. Candles are lit worldwide for one hour beginning at 7 p.m. in each time zone, creating a 24-hour global memorial. The memorial is planned during the holiday season since it's a difficult time for parents who have experienced the loss of a child. The ceremony is a way to grieve and heal, and for a parent to know he or she is not alone.
