GM, Disney Target Veterans at Job Fair

The automaker is teaming with The Walt Disney Co., the United Services Automobile Association and the Michigan Veterans Agency Affairs.

General Motors Co. is hosting a day-long veterans hiring summit Friday aimed at helping the estimated 30,000-50,000 veterans who are expected to move to Michigan after their military service ends in the coming years, WXYZ-TV reports.

Veterans and veterans organization representatives can meet with human resources and hiring managers for GM, Disney and other companies during the fair, which will be held from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at GM’s headquarters in at 200 Renaissance Center, downtown Detroit.

The goal of the fair is to ensure that veterans find jobs when their military experience ends.

Speakers include ABC journalist Bob Woodruff, GM chief executive Mary Barra and Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder.
