Hanchett Named MICPA Outstanding Teacher Of The Year

Plymouth High School Business teacher Karen Hanchett has been selected as the 2020 Outstanding High School Teacher Award by MICPA.

Plymouth High School Business teacher, Karen Hanchett has been selected as the 2020 Outstanding High School Teacher Award by the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.

In the email congratulating her, the president of the Michigan Association of CPAs said, "You have that special talent to take the student from high school and prepare them for college and beyond. You make a world of difference by giving the students an avenue to excel and find professional satisfaction." She will be honored at an Awards dinner in the fall.

Mrs. Hanchett has taught a variety of Business classes and advised a number of clubs and related activities. She is retiring this year so this is added proof of her finishing strong!

Her Honors Accounting class attended a conference for High School Leaders: Diversity in Accounting at Wayne State that was sponsored by the MICPA in March.
