Normally this week would conclude at West Middle School on Friday morning with the Eighth Grade Recognition Ceremony. Traditionally, the ceremony serves as a right of passage for West’s upperclassmen and the official end of the school year. Because of the Coronavirus and home learning, that ceremony will come to West Middle School students and families in a different format.
This year, the West Middle School’s Recognition Ceremony will be virtual and comes to each student’s home via YouTube. They don’t have to watch it live, but it will become available starting at noon on Thursday, June 11, 2020. The high definition video, which was produced by West Technology Aide Lori Jackson, features three guest student speakers and a message from Principal Clint Smiley.
