Homeowner Using Gas to Start Fire in Fireplace Learns Lesson
The fire quickly got out of hand after vapors from the gasoline ignited.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, MI – Plymouth Township homeowner James Roger Shaw escaped injury Friday after using gasoline to start a fire in a fireplace in a home at Plymouth Crossing and Schoolcraft Road, authorities said.
Township Fire Chief Daniel Phillips told The Plymouth Observer the vapors ignited.

“Using gasoline to start fires is one of the worst things to do,” he said.
