It's become almost as much of a summer staple in Michigan as Tigers baseball. Oberon, the popular Michigan-brewed summer beer from Comstock, MI-based Bell's Brewery, hit store shelves and local taps this week.
The wheat ale with a hint of orange and spices, which is distributed only in warm-weather months and has become a mainstay in backyard barbeques around the state, has been a popular summer selection for craft beer fans and mainstream beer drinkers alike.
Local bars such as celebrated the release Sunday night, with the beer tapped at midnight.

If you're in the market for more locally brewed beers, and carry their own beers on draft. Liberty Street Brewing Company's "Clementine Lemon Thyme," its own summer beer, will see a release in late spring and serves as an alternative to Oberon.
