The Little Stars Foundation Offers Free Media-Smart Youth Program
Registration Open for Free Media-Smart Youth Program Offered by The Little Stars Foundation in Canton

Youth today have tremendous access to the media, which can affect their overall health, particularly as it relates to nutrition and physical activity
. To help youth better navigate today’s media landscape and understand how media can influence their choices, The Little Stars Foundation (TLSF) is offering a free Media-Smart Youth workshop starting June 10, 2015 to local children ages 8 to 13 years old. The 4-week-long workshop will be held at the Canton Administration Building Meeting Room. The program will use the free curriculum Media-Smart Youth: Eat, Think, and Be Active!® provided by National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) to teach young people about media, nutrition, and physical activity. As part of the program, youth will analyze media messages, discover healthy snacks, and get moving during action breaks. They will also create media products of their own to encourage their peers to eat healthy
and get active, and make presentation at the end of the workshop. Food and beverage will be offered complimentary to the students at workshop. The registration deadline is June 5, 2015. If you are interested in signing up
