Local Veterans Law Firm, Canton Community Foundation to Host 2014 Veterans' Summit

If you are a veteran, and you have questions about VA benefits, pension eligibility, or anything else, I encourage you to attend this event.

The fifth annual Veterans’ Summit, sponsored by Legal Help For Veterans, PLLC and the Canton Community Foundation, will be held on Wednesday, September 10 at Laurel Manor in Livonia.

The event, which is free for veterans and their families, will run from 8 am to 2 pm. Presentations will include information on VA benefits eligibility, pension eligibility, an update on the state of veterans in Michigan, and more.

Attendees are asked to register prior to September 10, which they can do online at www.cantonfoundation.org, or by contacting Beth Meade at (734) 495-1200 or bmeade@cantonfoundation.org.

Brigadier General Carol Ann Fausone (ret.) with Legal Help For Veterans, PLLC in Northville hosted a similar event earlier this year aimed at educating veterans and their families at the Yankee Air Museum. Fausone says these events are much-needed, as many veterans don’t know the benefits available to them.

“Since retiring from the service in 2011, I have encountered countless veterans and families who don’t even know where to begin looking for the help they need – it can be overwhelming,” said Fausone. “This event will provide veterans with a great opportunity to learn about the benefits to which they’re entitled and how to apply for them.”

Along with Brigadier Fausone, Ron King, President of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 528 will also be in attendance. Rich Waldecker who also does a lot of work at numerous veterans events will be representing VVA 528 as well.

Laurel Manor in Livonia is located at 39000 Schoolcraft Road. Food and refreshments will be provided throughout the day for attendees.
