Macomb, Oakland and Wayne Counties Partner to Promote Community Event Website
Macomb County Community Mental Health expands innovative website to include Oakland and Wayne County.

More than one year after launching Commonwealth, an innovative website that promotes community events and resources, Macomb County Community Mental Health (MCCMH) is expanding participation to include Oakland and Wayne County.
The site, which advertises opportunities for education, individual growth, and connection to community service programs, now includes participation of all three tri-county Community Mental Health agencies: MCCMH, Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority (OCCMHA), and Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority (DWMHA).
Each organization belongs to the State public mental health system, serving qualifying individuals who have a developmental disability, mental illness, and substance use disorder, or children with serious emotional disturbance. Funding for these services is provided, in part, by the Department of Health and Human Services through Medicaid dollars.

“We are thankful for the collaboration and partnership of Oakland and Wayne Counties for this important community initiative,” says MCCMH Executive Director. “The more closely we work together to share valuable information about community resources with tri-county residents, the greater impact we have to help people improve their overall health and attain their personal ambitions.”
Commonwealth’s user-friendly format allows community member to browse events by a number of criteria, including county, organization or event name, date, location and cost. Its tremendous success is meeting a significant need, especially for families and individuals in search of local resources that enhance their ability to live, work, learn, and play in their communities.
