Man Hurt, Dog Put Down, Women Go to Court
Playful dogs turn aggressive and owners refuse to surrender them after man is injured trying to break up the fight.

A Canton man was injured last week when he tried to separate four dogs that were fighting, one of the dogs is dead and the two owners of dogs have been charged with harboring vicious dogs, police said.
Two pit bull mixes were reportedly attacking an 11-year-old husky. When two men, ages 63 and 53, heard the fight in a neighbor’s yard tried to break it up, one of them suffered bite wounds to his leg and hand by a fourth dog, a hound mix, according to Canton police.

The hound was also injured in the fight. His owner, a 57-year-old woman, said she couldn’t afford the veterinary costs to keep the dog alive, so he was euthanized.
She and the other dog owner, a 26-year-old woman, declined to surrender their dogs, so the matter will be decided in 35th District Court.
