Masked Man Robs Multiple Wayne County Businesses: Feds
Officials said the man first held up a lingerie store at gunpoint before targeting a McDonald's and a gas station along Ford Road.
WESTLAND, MI — A man was arrested in connection with multiple armed robberies in Wayne County last weekend, according to a federal complaint.
Officials said 33-year-old Brendan Bonner, of Westland, held up multiple businesses at gunpoint and took money early last Saturday morning.
Bonner, wearing a partial skeleton mask, black jacket and dark pants, went into the Intimate Ideas store on Warren Road in Westland with a handgun at 1 a.m. last Saturday, according to officials.

He then pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money from the register, taking roughly $400 before leaving running out the store, according to officials.
Six hours later, Bonner, now wearing a clown mask and a green jacket, walked into a McDonald’s on Ford Road in Westland with a handgun, and again demanded money from the register, according to officials.

The McDonald’s employees told Bonner that the register was closed, so he tried to open it himself, according to officials.
When he wasn't able to open the register, he left the restaurant without taking any money, according to officials.
Shortly after trying to rob the McDonald’s, Bonner, still wearing the same clown mask and green jacket, walked into a Shell gas station in Garden City and pointed the gun at the clerk, saying, "You got 30 seconds before I start shooting," according to officials.
The store clerk handed over roughly a $1,000 and Bonner ran out the store toward an apartment complex on Pardo Street, according to officials.
Later that morning, Garden City Police were patrolling that area and found Bonner sitting inside a car in front of the apartment complex, according to officials.
He was wearing the same green jacket that surveillance video captured the suspected armed robber wearing at the gas station, according to officials.
Officers also found a semiautomatic handgun, a clown mask and latex gloves, inside the car, according to officials.
Bonner was also carrying money wrapped in rubber bands in his pockets, according to officials.
Inside his apartment, officers found a partial skeleton mask, and other clothing that matched those worn during the robbery of Intimate Ideas, according to officials.
Officers spoke to a witness who was in Bonner's home before the Intimate Ideas robbery, according to officials.
The witness told officers that Bonner took a mask that was black and white and covered half his face, along with a gun that he made with parts he ordered online, according to officials.
Bonner then told the witness that he was going out to do a robbery, according to officials.
When Bonner returned, he told the witness he robbed Intimate Ideas at gunpoint, and cleaned the money for hours so the fingerprints would not be on it, according to officials.
The witness also told investigators that Bonner said he didn't take his phone because he knew he could be tracked, according to officials.
Bonner then left a second time wearing a clown mask with the same gun, according to officials.
While speaking with investigators, Bonner admitted to the robberies, according to officials.
