Metro Detroit Community College Guide
Metro Detroit has five community colleges: Schoolcraft, Henry Ford, Washtenaw, Wayne County and Oakland. Which one is best for you?

Community college, also known as junior or two-year colleges, is becoming more popular as tuition continues to increase. According to the American Association of Community Colleges, nearly 6.9 million people attend a community college full or part time.
In the Metro Detroit area, we have five community colleges: Schoolcraft, Henry Ford, Washtenaw, Wayne Community College District and Oakland Community College.
For the purpose of this post, I’m considering Metro Detroit to be Wayne, Oakland and Washtenaw County. Estimated cost calculates 12 credit hours.

Schoolcraft College

Henry Ford Community College

Estimated total cost per semester: $1,319
Accredited programs: automotive technology, culinary arts, medical assistant, nursing, ophthalmic, paralegal, paramedic, physical therapy assistant, radiographer, respiratory therapist and surgical technologist.

Washtenaw Community College

Things to consider no which community college you attend:
Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers, provides transferability of 30 credits to most (if not all) participating community colleges and four-year universities. Find more information here
