Moving to Plymouth Michigan
Are you thinking of Moving to Plymouth Michigan? Photos, links, real estate, homes for sale, and community information to make your move eas

I have never lived in Plymouth Michigan myself, but I lived in a neighboring community and visited the city often. Plymouth is on the western side of Wayne County and is about 30 minutes from Downtown Detroit and about 20 minutes from Ann Arbor. Go east and you are in Detroit and go west you are in Ann Arbor. That is one benefit about moving to Plymouth it has easy highway access to get to work, to go shopping, or visit friends and family.
Let’s talk about shopping a little. Plymouth is not going to be one of those cities that has congested roadways because of all the stores along the main drag. Nearby Canton and Ford Rd is full of every store you could want or you can drive to Westland Mall or Laurel Park Place Mall to really go shopping indoors. So you will not be stuck in traffic going home because of all the people going to the stores.
What is Plymouth real estate like? Plymouth Michigan is really two separate towns. The City of Plymouth and Plymouth Township which has lower taxes. The real estate in the City of Plymouth will be smaller and older homes in most cases. You will find homes from the early 1900’s to the present time. Many of the homes are under 2000 square feet. You will find every shape and style of home around the downtown area. You will find wood bungalows, 1000 square foot brick ranches, and larger colonials. You will even find some old Victorian homes in the city. There are also many different types of condos in the area too.

The township is going to be full of many nice subdivisions. Many of them have been built within the last 20 years. You will find brick colonials ranging from 2000 square feet to over 4000 square feet. Open layouts, spacious gourmet kitchens, large master bedroom suites with walkin closets and master baths. Of course you will find split level homes, and ranches too. There are fewer bungalows in the township. The main two types of homes are going to be ranches and colonial homes.
Most of Plymouth’s homes are going to have garages, basements, shingled roofs, and are going to be over a 1000 square feet. Some will have attached garages some will not be. The older subdivisions will allow you to fence the yard, but most of the newer subdivisions will not.
