Eriksson Elementary Teachers

Because students are learning at home, the Eriksson Elementary staff had to be very creative as they developed lessons to target academic standards for their grade level. In order to provide instruction that effectively communicates information and directions, models skills, addresses misconceptions, and fosters the importance of personal connections between teacher and students, teachers post lessons that often allow students to see or hear their voice.

Many lessons are presented using Google Slides or Google Docs with teachers explaining material with video or voiceover recording using Screencastify. These lessons are posted on Seesaw or Google Classroom each week. Teachers video themselves reading books and teaching lessons using apps like Bombbomb or uploading video from their phones or computers.

In addition, teachers have created hubs for the entire school community to watch a daily morning announcement recorded by a student and access read alouds recorded by teachers throughout the building. They continue to reach out to families asking if there is anything else they need during this unprecedented time. The Eriksson staff is doing an amazing job, and students and families are appreciating their efforts.
