Pair Escape Drug Charges, But Still Have Trouble

Two people arrested early Saturday morning after Plymouth Township police found small amounts of suspected heroin and crack cocaine escaped drug charges, but will still face charges.
Police stopped a man, 32, after he allegedly failed to stop at a red light on the westbound M-14 off-ramp and then made an improper turn into the left lane of northbound Beck, according to a report on Hometownlife.com.
The driver, whose name and address were not given, told police his license was suspended and he was arrested. He and his passenger, a 33-year-old woman, were taken into custody when the search turned up the suspected narcotics.

The two told police they didn’t know anything about the suspected drugs, according to the report.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s office denied warrant requests on the drug charges, but approved a driving with a suspended license charge against the man. The woman was held on an outstanding warrant.
