PLYMOUNTH LIBRARY welcomes Youtube Boogie-Woogie Sensation with link to Frederic Chopin and 2.6 million views to perform this SUNDAY, March 16th 2014 @ 3:00 p.m.
Attorney
turned Boogie, Blues, & Ragtime musician, Matthew Ball aka The Boogie
Woogie Kid will heat up the piano keys at The Plymouth District Library this SUNDAY,
March 16th 2014 @ 3:00 p.m. with
a FREE family friendly concert of piano fun!
Today
with over 2.6 million youtube views of his past performance and at home
video footage, Ball has truly become a phenomenon, with descriptions of his
performances like “Awesome!” “Crushing!” Fantastic!”
He
also boasts a pedagogical link to Frederic Chopin himself!, having studied classically at Oakland
University in Rochester MI with Dr. Flavio Varani. Professor Varani
traced his pedigree of study through the Paris Conservatory back to Frederic
Chopin by way of Magda Tagliaferro, Alfred Cortot, and Emile Descombs, who was
a late pupil of the composer Chopin.

Matthew Ball left a career
as an attorney in 2001 after he
attended a local boogie-woogie festival, to become a blues and boogie-woogie man.
Now, after a decade in the field, with an array of accomplishments, he has
distinguished himself as ‘one of the best’ practitioners of the genre today.
Described as ‘a nationally emerging boogie-woogie master,’ Matthew is
becoming one of today’s leading performing authorities on this treasured
American tradition.
