Quick Action Saves Man Who Reportedly Overdosed

Canton police revived man who wasn't breathing and had no pulse.

CANTON, MI – Police in Canton are being credited with quick action that saved the life of a man who allegedly overdosed on drugs after becoming upset over legal issues involving the mother of his children.

Police were called to a home in the 42400 block of Saltz about 7:10 a.m. on Dec. 30, The Canton Observer reports.

Police began chest compressions and revived the man after finding the unconscious man, who had no pulse and wasn’t breathing. Just as he began breathing, Canton firefighter paramedics arrived and continue lifesaving efforts, according to the report.

A syringe was found in an ashtray, police said.
