Coloring for Smiles!
"Snail Mail For Seniors" is a non-profit organization based out of Plymouth/Canton that sends mail to senior citizens all across the state. We currently send out close to 800 cards or pictures monthly to people who do not otherwise receive mail and very rarely have visitors, most of them in nursing or assisted living homes. We also send a monthly card in the Canton Meals On Wheels hot lunches. We are in our 6th year of service, and could not continue without the help of so many who supply the items to be mailed out. Items made by children are a real treat for the seniors, so how about bringing out the crayons and paper today and have your kids color us some pictures? Or, they could write a short letter, or make a card. They do not need to be fancy. Please avoid using glitter, and do not write "get well" on the cards. They can sign their names and age if they'd like, or simply, 'a Snail Mail friend'. Adults can join in also for a fun and worthwhile family activity.
Items may be dropped off at the front desk of Waltonwood Carriage Park Assisted Living Home (smaller of the 2 buildings) located at 2000 Canton Center Rd., just south of Ford. Please put your items in a bag or box marked 'snail mail', with your name inside. I make pick-ups there twice a week. Or items may be mailed to : Snail Mail For Seniors", P.O.
