Stress during morning and afternoon commutes is problem not just in Metro Detroit, but across the country, according to the 2015 Urban Mobility Scorecard jointly released earlier this fall by Texas A&M and Inrix, a traffic data-collection company.

As the saying goes, time is money — big money, with lots and lots of zeros.
Collectively, commuters lost 6.9 billion hours and 3.1 billion gallons of fuel to traffic delays in 2014 at a whopping cost of $160 billion.
That’s up from $114 in 2000 and $42 billion in 1982, according to a USA Today report.
The good news is that Metro Detroit isn’t in the Top 10 U.S. cities with the worst traffic. Just be glad you’re not in Washington, DC, or California, which had four cities in the Top 10.
