The beer was first brewed in Detroit in 1850, but was sold off after declining sales.

Detroit, MI — After 31 years away, Stroh’s iconic Bohemian-Style Pilsner will once again be brewed in Detroit.

Brew Detroit LLC, a 68,000-square-foot brewing facility at 1401 Abbott Street, received label approval for the beer on June 8, Crain’s Detroit Business reported.

The beer will likely be brewed for Stroh Brewing Co., which is owned by Milwaukee-based Pabst Brewing Co.

According to Daily Detroit, this edition of Stroh’s will be higher in alcohol content. While standard Stroh’s is 4.4 percent alcohol by volume, the edition brewed in Detroit will be 5.5 percent.

Though it’s unclear when the beer will be available for purchase, beer brands typically hit the market within weeks or months of receiving label approval.
