Support Local Youth Theater

Spotlight on Youth is a "theater for youth, by youth'. Please come to the Village Theater and support your local youth tomorrow, Thursday May 8 through Saturday night May 10. The show is a youth version of "The Canterbury Tales" .... some songs, jokes and a lot fun make it a great way to introduce this kids in your life to theater!

here are more details:

Audience members share the spotlight with
youth actors in this family friendly version of “The Canterbury Tales.” Based
on the classic by Geoffrey Chaucer, this is the delightful tale of 4 travelers
journeying to Canterbury Cathedral in the late 1300’s. The travelers stop for
the night at the Tabard Inn. While there, they amuse each other telling tales.

We hear tales from the Yeoman, the Wife of Bath, the Pardoner and the Priest.
At the end of all the tales, the audience votes for the best story told! This show uses audience
inter-action and has many toe-tappin’ songs that move the plot forward. A contemporary
and humorous experience for kids of all ages! This show is approximately 1.5
hours in length, plus an intermission, perfect for little ones who can’t sit
still long! Reserve your seats now, 1 week-end only: Thursday, May 8 through
Saturday May 10. Tickets are only $10 each at the Village Theater at Cherry
Hill in Canton.

Director and Novi resident Barbara Bloom says:

“This show has an audience interactive aspect that is so light-hearted and
fun. It makes each performance feel new and challenges our young actors. Although
this show is not a musical, there is a lot of music and some engaging songs for
the audience to enjoy. Anyone who appreciates storytelling and theater will
enjoy this youth production.”
